William Nelson "Bill" Myers died November 16, 2009 at his home in Yacolt. Myers was born July 31, 1935. He is survived by wife Barbara, daughter Tracy Kern and son Scott. Bill was a reporter for the Battleground Reflector for 15 years. Funeral arrangements pending with Laynes Funeral Home in Battleground.

William Nelson Myers, 74, died Nov. 16, 2009, at home in Yacolt. Myers was born July 31, 1935. He graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a degree in English and social science. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne as a paratrooper, stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY 1953-1956. Myers had worked for Mutual of Omaha as an assistant vice president of marketing and a regional consultant, retiring in 1995. He had also worked for Allstate Insurance Company in California. Myers worked as a reporter for The Reflector in Battle Ground for 15 years beginning in July 1995. He collected numerous accolades during his reporting career and was well known throughout the area. Survivors include wife Barbara Myers, at home in Yacolt, daughter Tracy Kern, son Scott Myers, and grandchildren. Service arrangements are pending, with Layne’s Funeral Home, Battle Ground, in charge of arrangements. More obituary information will be published at a later date.
