Long time Woodland resident, business owner and benefactor to many in the Woodland area, Ansgar Schei, passed away. January 8, 2010. Ansgar was 94 yrs. old. He was chosen as Citizen of the Year for the 2nd time a couple of years ago by the Chamber. Ansgar lived in Vancouver at an assistant living home. Many of you knew Ansgar and his family. He owned Lewis River Motors and semi-retired a few years ago. Eric, Ansgar's son, owns the dealership now and has for several years. WOODLAND LOST A GREAT MAN IN THIS COMMUNITY

Football Game & Award for Ansgar ScheiSeptember 5, 2008 - Photography by Noel Johnson Woodland and Kalama played a football game at Woodland on Friday evening, September 5, 2008. Before the game the Beaver Boosters held a barbecue. Proceeds from the Barbecue went to Dr. Hodel who was disabled as the result of a diving accident. During half time the Beaver Booster presented Ansgar Schei with a plaque honoring him as Honored Citizen for 2008. Ansgar has donated much time and money to the Beavers for many years. The plaque will be posted on the Hall of Fame Board by the Football Field.
