Fargher Lake
History
The water was drained from Fargher Lake over 50 years ago.
The area was settled by Fred and Horatio Farghuar, later spelled Fargher. They immigrated from the Isle of Wight in the 1860s.
The Lake was originally called Hard Hack Swamp. Over the years the drained Lake Bottom produced mint, daffodils, other bulbs, onions and hay. Now there are vast fields of blueberries.
