March 2013 - Seeking the Greatest Good with Your Help - Gifford Pinchot National Forest employees would like public input in the process of reviewing the forest's outfitter and guide program. An outfitter or guide is a commercial entity offering clients expanded recreational opportunities by providing specialized knowledge, skills, experience and equipment general recreationists might not otherwise possess. Outfitters and guides must apply for and retain a special use permit from the forest in order to operate there. Interested individuals are invited to provide comments via an online questionnaire.
