Kalama Heritage Festival


Schedule of Events


The festivities will kick off on Friday with a retracing of the commercial run of the Northern Pacific Railway to Tacoma and includes a tour of the Washington State Historical Museum. In downtown Kalama there will be an Art Show and Street Fair with live music and street dance in the evening.

Activities on Saturday and Sunday will include an Art Show & Street Fair in Kalama, Canoe Regatta, Indian and Hawaiian Drumming, Hula shows, Pow Wow-Potlatch, and Traditional and Contemporary Music that spans the diverse multi-cultural ethnicities this region is known for. Also Railroad Exhibits and Memorabilia, Arts and Crafts, Demonstrations, Lectures & Film Presentations, and a Volley Ball Tournament will be part of the program.

On Saturday there will be a Luau / Pow Wow-Potlatch with Traditional Hawaiian & Pacific Northwest tribal foods and entertainment. Followed by an Evening Concert with special guest artists from Hawaii, Canada and local groups.

Admission to the festivities is FREE except for the Dinner, Show and Concert on Saturday night. Tickets may be purchased online at www.alohaislandtreasures.net or at Sherry’s Coffee Corner & Laundromat in Kalama.
