Adult Basic Education, GED and ESL - Summer 2008



FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Lower Columbia College Woodland Summer Quarter classes for basic skills and high school completion.

Lower Columbia College Woodland Center is offering the following classes for students working on basic skills or to complete their high school education. Lower Columbia College Woodland Center has a convenient location, small class size and state-of-the-art computer lab available in Woodland at 650 Goerig Street. GED and Adult Basic Education
All subjects and levels are taught to individuals who wish to get their GED’s or to improve their skills in reading, writing and math. Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 9 pm Cost is $25 and financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

ESL (English as a Second Language)
All levels are provided at several times and locations to meet the needs of busy students. Cost is $25 per quarter, but scholarships are available for eligible individuals and families.

-Evening classes for all levels Monday and Wednesday from 7 – 10 pm at LCC, 650 Goerig St.

-Family Literacy ESL held at La Casa de San Juan Diego, #133 S. Pekin Road in Woodland.

Day classes – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11am-1pm Intermediate, and 1:30-3:30pm for basic.

Evenings - Monday and Wednesday from 6 – 7:30 pm for beginning levels and intermediate and advanced study from 7:30 – 9 pm. The evening classes also offer homework and reading activity for children ages 5 – 12, with no supervised play for children younger than five. Priority registration is given to parents with their children, ages 5-12.

High School Completion classes are available for currently enrolled high school students who are in need of credit recovery in order to graduate. Course work is self directed with an instructor available per need. Students must be referred by their high school counselors to register. Adult Diploma program is for those over the age of 19 who want to complete their high school education and receive a Washington State Adult Diploma. Cost for these two classes varies depending on credits needed to complete the program.
