The Merwin project was placed in service in 1931. Merwin is a 313-foot high concrete arch type dam. It creates Merwin Lake, a 4,040-acre impoundment popular with a wide variety of recreationists.

Merwin Park at Lake Merwin is a day use area consisting of 135 picnic tables, parking for 250 vehicles, and a beach swim area. Open year around.

Jack's Store
Jack's Store is where you turn off to the right to go to Cresap Bay Campground and the Saddle Dam Recreation area. This is also where you register to climb Mt. St Helens. Stop in and have a bite to eat and pick up your supplies.

Cresap Bay Campground
Cresap Bay Campground has 58 individual campsites, 1 group campsite, restrooms and shower, 20 picnic tables, a two-lane boat ramp and a beach swim area.

\ Mt. St. Helens Fishing Clinic
Fishing, a casting contest, environmental education, face painting, prizes and refreshments were enjoyed on June 12, 2004 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Merwin Park 12 miles east of Woodland. The event was a joint effort of the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Pacific Power, and Camas Moose Lodge. Click here for pictures and more information. |
