As our hustle-bustle world leads us in many different directions at once take a some time to turn off the cell phone, computer, or television and join the Woodland community for Planters Days!

The Woodland Planters Days Parade is rich in history. The very first parade, in 1928, replaced the automobile tour of the Woodland dikes and each year since, with the help of local businesses and the community, the parade has grown.

Not your normal 'small town parade,' as the oldest continuously celebrated civic celebration in the State of Washington the Planters Days Parade brings visitors from all over the world together to enjoy a experience unique to our area.

Classic vehicles, colorful floats, drum lines, dancers, drill teams, equestrian acts, marching bands, and city, county, and state dignitaries from the Honorable Mayor and City Council of Woodland, through this areas Congressional and District Representatives and Senator to the Royal Courts from Clark and Cowlitz Counties, and Miss Washington; the parade features the true culture of our beautiful region.

The Veteran's of Foreign Wars and United States Military color guards proudly remind everyone to honor those who serve. From the Police and Fire Departments to World War II, Korean, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and current Afghanistan and Iraq veterans that can usually be seen riding the restored antique military or classic vehicles throughout the parade, show your support for these men and women as they pass!

Parade viewers marvel at the action packed martial arts teams and share a round of laugher as clowns 'hold up' the parade for hilarious acts. Favorites include the Burgerville Train, the Farnell family's unicycles and velocipede, the bright pink 'muffler car' from Longivew, with the drill teams and marching bands always bringing great viewer applause.

Children of all ages enjoy candy, coupons, and goodies tossed from the marching units and parade floats and thrill at the marching units and floats.

Recapture the wonder you remember from the parades of your childhood or bring your children to experience an authentic community parade for the first time. We look forward to seeing you at the Woodland Planters Days Parade!
