RIDGEFIELD - Winners have been announced in the parade and pie-eating contests that were part of the city's annual Fourth of July celebration on Monday.
The parade winners were: Grand Marshal Award, Evergreen Old Car Club #10; Mayor's Award, Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge plankhouse; Best Theme Commercial, CHS Pharmacy; Best Theme Noncommercial, plankhouse volunteers; Best Youth Award, Cub Scouts packs 303 and 310.
Also: Floats Noncommercial, Ridgefield Garden Club; Floats Commercial, Excalibur Limousines & Enchanted Chapel; Bands (marching and riding), Committee to Elect Steve Stuart; Marching Units, Fort Vancouver Pipe Band; Horses, 4-H miniature horses; Dogs & Pets, Otis from Ridgefield True Value Hardware; Courts, Miss Teen La Center court; Depicting Theme, TLC Dental "Six Different Journeys Through Time"; Classic Vehicles, Volcano "A's"; Decorated Bikes, Trikes & Wagons; Ashbury/Robbins; Costumes, Mosquito Control.
In the pie-eating contest, first place went to David Stewart; second to Ken Perry; and third to Caitlin Matley. Country Cafe donated the pies. Pie-eating contest heat winners were: Garrett Cloistre and Bryce McQuivery, 12 and younger; Erin Stewart and Caitlin Matley, 13-17; and Ken Perry and David Stewart, 18 and older.
