City of Ridgefield, Washington Launches Enhanced Web Site

Ridgefield, WA, January 28, 2008 – The City of Ridgefield, Washington announced today that it has updated and enhanced the City's website. The website address is www.ci.ridgefield.wa.us.

The City's website offers information on the City Council, the City’s form of government, City Council meeting agendas and meeting minutes, information on the Advisory Boards and Commissions, City employment opportunities, current events and links to other local and regional websites. In addition, each City department has its own web page where interested persons can find information on specific department functions and key activities. Enhancements to the site include a Frequently Asked Questions section for each department, history of the community, New Resident Information and a new Forms, Maps and Documents page that will allow visitors a one stop area to locate City maps, documents, applications and permits. The Ridgefield Municipal Code can be viewed on-line and payments for utility services may be made through a link on the website.

Justin Clary, City Manager, said "This update to our website reflects the City's on-going effort to improve services to citizens and customers. The City recognizes the need to provide multiple avenues for information gathering in a user friendly format; we believe that the modified website will help us better serve the Ridgefield community."

The City of Ridgefield, incorporated in 1909, is a rapidly growing community located in northern Clark County, Washington approximately 10 miles north of Vancouver, Washington. Over the next 10 to 15 years, the City of Ridgefield expects to grow to a population of over 20,000 persons with an employment base of over 13,000 jobs. The City has adopted a Council-City Manager form of government. The City Manager acts as the chief executive officer of the City overseeing daily operations, annual budget development and implementation, and personnel. The City Manager works with a management team composed of the Director of Finance and Administration/C, the Community Development Director, the Public Works Director and the Police Chief to insure that community services are provided and that the policy directives of the City Council are carried out in the most efficient manner possible.
