100 Year Homestead Anniversary - Future Site of Ridgefield High School

On December 17, 2004 the Ridgefield High School student body recognized Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bartel for their family’s 100 year homestead anniversary. The actual anniversary date is December 17, 1904-2004. This is the date that Mr. Bartel’s parents, Henry Bartel and Ida Mueler-Bartel established ownership of the property, which is now the future site of Ridgefield High School. The assembly celebrating this event began at 1:45 p.m., 2630 South Hillhurst Road, Ridgefield, Washington. It was well attended by friends of the Bartels.

Board of Directors Meet Legislators

The Ridgefield School District Board of Directors met with three Washington State Legislators on December 13, 2004. The Districts concerns were addressed by the Legislators. The main theme of the discussion was the huge state budget shortfall and how best to balance the budget. The Legislators agreed to have a continuing dialogue with the school District while they are in session.
