Cowlitz County Commissioners Race - July 2008
The Cowlitz County League of Women Voters and the Woodland Community Library sponsored a forum for the candidates for Cowlitz County Commissioners race. Abbey Anderson, our Woodland Librarian was the moderator. The forum went very well. Click here for more pictures.
Steve Branz Sworn In
Steve Branz was sworn in as Woodland Public Works Director at the City Council meeting on July 21, 2008 by Mari Ripp. Mayor Chuck Blum welcomed him and wished him well in his new job.

Elaine Huber appointed to Public Works Director
It is with great pleasure that the City of Woodland wishes to announce the appointment of Elaine Huber to Public Works Director for the City of Woodland. The City Council confirmed her appointment at the November 6th regular council meeting.
Ms. Huber currently works at the City of Vancouver as a Civil Engineer. She is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of Washington and also a Washington State certified drinking water operator (WDM-2). Her education includes a Bachelor of Science at University of Washington and continued education towards her MBA at WSU-Vancouver. She was also a Lt. at USNR-Civil Engineer Corps from 1986 to 1990.
She brings a wealth of knowledge to the position and to the City of Woodland. Her experience includes drinking water, development review, capital project design for water and wastewater; experience with the US Forest Service in road, bridges, campgrounds and facilities, design and contract administration.
