The Woodland Fire Department held its annual awards banquet March 10, 2012 at the Lewis River Golf Course. The event was well attended and everyone enjoyed the food and the camaraderie. The downtown area of Woodland is protected by a sea wall. The sea wall has an opening in it for Lewis River Road to pass through. In case of a pending flood there are planks that are used to close the wall to protect Woodland. A drill was held on May 13, 2008 to aquaint new employs with thr procedure for closing the wall.
