Summer Reading Ice Cream Social
August 8, 2007 - 2 pm
Woodland Community Center (Next to the Library)
A large group of children turned out to watch Comedian - Magician Louie Foxx perform. Louie made our tummies hurt from laughing and our mouths hung open in awe at his magic tricks. He is an excellent magician. After his performance ice-cream and punch were served outside under sunny skies. The Friends of the Woodland Community Library hosted this entire event. | Free Computer Classes at Woodland Community Library!
Twice each month, expert instructors from the Fort Vancouver Regional
Library Information Services department will come to the Woodland
library to offer personalized introductions to the Internet and E-mail.
Registration is required, so call the library at 225-2115 or stop by in
person at 770 Park St. to reserve your time. Classes are free of charge,
and open to anyone with a Fort Vancouver Regional Library card. If you
don't have a card already, stop by and find out how much the library can
do for you!
Classes are held on the second and fourth Monday mornings of every
month, with sessions from 9:00-10:00am and 10:00-11:00am (before the
library opens to the public). Each session includes about 40 minutes of
instruction time and 20 minutes of free exploration. Three slots are
available for each session, so reserve your time today! Click here for more info.

Arty Party
The Woodland Community Library had an "Arty Party" April 10, 2007. Winners of the Bookmark Contest were announced. Fun time for all.

Washington Secretary of State, Sam Reed toured our area March 15, 2007. Sam is a great supporter of libraries. He is also promoting a bill in the legislature to create a Washington State Heritage Center. Sam was well received at the: Woodland Community Library, La Center Library and he visited with members of the Woodland Historical Museum Society. Click here for more pictures.

The Woodland Community Library supplies a variety of events at 770 Park St., in Woodland. For more information, call the library at 225-2115.
- Preschool Storytimes --- 10:30 a.m. Fridays, Jan. 5 - April 27 (no storytime April 6); for ages 3 to 6 years.
- Book Babies --- 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 7 - March 14; ages 3 and under with participating adult; explore the six pre-reading skills your child can start learning from birth.
- Book Discussion --- 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, on the second floor; "Old School" by Tobias Wolff will be discussed during this friendly, informal gathering; books are provided by the library.
- Young Adult Advisory Board --- 3:30 p.m. first Wednesday of each month on the second floor; ages 12 to 19; plan teen programs; volunteer opportunities that look great on a college or work application; support the teen summer reading program; meet new people.
- Tales From Sunnier Climes --- 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 20 and March 20; stories for all ages from places where the sun shines; come in your jammies if you like no matter what your age; enjoy some hot cocoa; storyteller Abbie Anderson will share stories and songs to make you laugh, move and think.
- Knitting 101 --- 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 6, 13 and 27; ages 11 years and up; learn casting on and knitting, purling and binding off, share ideas for patterns and projects; instructors are Helen Connors and Joanne Sanburg; materials are provided; pre-registration is required; class size is limited.
