The 2006 Memorial Day Services were held on May 29, 2006 at 11 a. m. Special thanks to Bill Stuart and others for organizing this event. Opening prayer was led by James Albertson, Chaplain, Woodland VFW. America The Beautiful was led by Tim Carlisle and sung by all. Breathtaking F-15 fly-over by Captain Pooman of the Oregon Air National Guard. Woodland Mayor Doug Monge welcomed and thanked all those that attended. Special Speakers were Chief Master Sgt/ Erin Parks, Oregon Air National Guard and Commander David C. Olmsted of the VFW. Taps was played magnificantly by Brandon Norenburg, Woodland High School. The Woodland VFW served complementary sandwiches, coffee and cake.
