Woodland Public School Levy - January 2010Thursday, January 28th, the Woodland School District and the Cowlitz County League of Women Voters will co-sponsor an opportunity to learn about the Woodland School levy. The event will be held in the Woodland High School Library at 7pm. Superintendent Michael Green will present information and answer questions. The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Funeral services for the long-time owner of Lewis River Motors who raised millions for philanthropic causes will be held Wed., Jan. 13, 11 a.m., at Woodland Presbyterian Church, 756 Park St., Woodland. Ansgar Schei - January 8, 2010Long time Woodland resident, business owner and benefactor to many in the Woodland area, Ansgar Schei, passed away this morning, January 8, 2010. Ansgar was 94 yrs. old. He was chosen as Citizen of the Year for the 2nd time a couple of years ago by the Chamber. Ansgar lived in Vancouver at an assistant living home. Many of you knew Ansgar and his family. He owned Lewis River Motors and semi-retired a few years ago. Eric, Ansgar's son, owns the dealership now and has for several years. No details on funeral, etc. but you can check back in a couple days and we will have details for you. Our prayers go out to his family. WOODLAND LOST A GREAT MAN IN THIS COMMUNITY
